My kid was learning about poetry in her class when she was 10, so I wrote
her some stuff.
So the wife laughs and says pretty good, but I'll write one better for
her...
So she writes this poem called my favorite little girl...The are all girling
out, saying girls are the masters of words and dumb shit like that.
So they put it in her book bag for school so she can read it out loud in
class. Reading one of mine the day before.
So....I sneak up at 5am and "edited" the poem, I added to it, in a way that
a kid would just keep on reading not realizing it was edited. lol
She read it in class and kept on reading as planned. She came home and told
us and I laughed up my spleen.
Here's the poem, remember the context of her reading a poem the day after
mine saying its her moms proving girls write better poems..
Hey poem writer...
It was a nice try,
And I don't mean to pry,
but your poem writing skills,
just wont pay the bills.
Your words, they don't ring,
Your sentences, they don't sing,
Of course there's no plot..Shakespear your not.
But don't give up heart,
The was one good part,
The title you chose,
was as sweet as a rose.
(Of course I gave the title as part of the challange to out poem me)
Call me sexist but anytime anyplace Rosey the riveter! Go make dinner! lol
