I used to circle mill a lot of holes when doing moldbases.
Had a quick gimmick in my head half the hole minus half the cutter/2 gets
typed out on the line and the cutter starts in the center of the hole.
I never used a startpoint with mastercam.
I'm literally ashamed.
The method I had was fast enough, but if you leave stock on a hole, your
not on center anymore, with selecting a point your always on center.
Yesterday I asked a guy about any good hole stuff, he's real fast on
moldbases, so I seen if I could scarf some good ideas on holes. I was handed
a formula they all use for cutting a hole.
You click on the hole, and go to information. Cut and paste the size of the
radius to the input in the leadin dialog, then add the math to the end....
FUCK that!
I just point and click these days! lol
Friggen click startpoint, center...done.
It should have an automatic switch for startpoints, and it decides the best
place for it, a circle would be on center. I bet you could make a
macro....hmmmmmm.....
