patients and how it will all be paid for. Someone may very well be lying and

On Wednesday night, President Obama called Sarah Palin and, by inference, his
critics, liars. Joe Wilson, called the president, and by inference, his
supporters, liars. One of them is probably right.

Or people might want to read what Joe Wilson said in his Fox News interview,
available online this morning, in which he acknowledges that there's nothing
in the bill that supports paid abortions or subsidized coverage for illegal
aliens. His concern (and not an illegitimate one) is that the enforcement
against those things is not covered by the proposed bill.
But that's the kind of thing that should get worked out when Congress works
it over, or in Conference Committee. To say that the proposed bill provides
either of those things is a lie. If he had said it wasn't sufficient to
prevent them as it now stands, he'd have a legitimate point of view and an
honest statement. The one he made is dishonest -- or, more likely, just
stupid. He doesn't sound like the sharpest knife in the drawer.
