Does anyone here have any experience with re-assembling a 7 inch SB
shaper? I removed the ram from mine to repair a clogged oil tube, and
to get the ram off I also removed the rocker arm cross shaft (part # 63
in the "How To Run A Metal Working Shaper" manual) and the rocker arm
(part #74) and have run into a snag getting it all back together. The
shaft came out of the rocker arm and the bushings easily enough with a
hammer and brass punch, but it doesn't seem to want to go back into the
rocker hole. I have already split one of the shaft bushings by
hammering and I don't want to do any further damage. What is the proper
way to do it? The shaft is about 1/2 thousandth larger at one end, but
I have tried it both ways without success. Any suggestions appreciated.
