Go to the appropriate forum on the Turbo Diesel Register website:
http://www.turbodieselregister.com
where you'll find quite a large number of people who routinely "BOMB" their
Cummins-powered trucks. <grin>
If you decide to join, not only will you be able to post your own queries
but you'll also receive their quarterly "newsletter"/magazine [thick, with
few ads and lots of articles] that may be even more valuable to you. FWIW,
back issues of their publication can be purchased.
Whether you're working with the original (5.9L) 12-valve, the 2nd-generation
24-valve (mechanical fuel pump/computer-controlled), the 3rd-generation
24-valve (electric fuel pump), or the newer 4th-generation (6.7 L) engine,
there'll be people there who've BTDT to extreme excess. <GRIN>
Since you already have an EGT sensor in place, get it hooked up to a gauge!
If nothing else, it'll give you a "feel" for what the stock engine produces
under *your* driving conditions.
IMO. it's best to put in the gauges *before* BOMBing anything so that, among
other things, you can have a better idea of what "Normal" is for your
situation.
