hi guys

I found gunners 'not too favorable' 2002 review of made in china welding
rods here

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.crafts.metalworking/browse_thread/thread/5a2d46695d830c15/5f00b35947e910bb?q=rods+china&rnum=2#5f00b35947e910bb

but that was 4 yrs ago. right now, I'm wondering if things have improved
ANY in the quality-level of made in china welding rods? anybody here
ever used "monkey king" or "ship king" brand (china) rods, and if so,
would they please share their opinion here?

ps - are the china-made 1/16th thick cutoff wheels ALL a "vibrating
sparky nightmare" to use? I used an 040 thick hilti cutoff wheel
recently, and the diff between the two was like night and day - the
hilti being FAR smoother to operate, and VASTLY less huge sparks flying
everywhere...anybody got a super-source for 040 thick 4.5 or 5 inch
cutoff wheels they care to share?

thanks guys,

toolie
