As Nick M suggests, it is fairly standard practice to use chain with
attachment links to make a "sprocket" on large diameters. Try the reynolds
or cross & morse sites / cats. or if appearance not important just weld a
ring of chain around the drum, if pushed I could even calculate the diameter
to fix to if you are stuck.
