GMAW--

welding with my millermatic 250 with CO2 shielding gas... this is
short circuit transfer, yes? Not globular, or spray, correct?

You really need a Argon/CO2 mix to get globular or spray.
If you ran C25 gas, 0.030" wire, maxed out your voltage and ran the
wire feed at about 80% max, you could jump to spray mode.
Very hot welding method.

Easier to just run dual shield wire.
0.035" ESAB 7100 ultra will run quite nicely on your machine, but it
also likes C25 gas.

C25 is 75% Argon / 25% CO2
