Having grown up in the oil patch, I know the absolute truth of the "old
hand's" statement. <grin>
Pertinent questions, when asked at the right time [preferably accompanied
by a container of a favored beverage], can also elicit valuable
information. <GRIN>
For many years, by following this precept, I learned most of my computer
software/hardware skills from people who'd normally never interact with
customer personnel. [Usually they'd wait till the customer people wandered
off before beginning work or find an unoccupied office where they could be
alone.]
As for me, I learned a long time ago that not only did I not have all of
the answers but didn't even know what the questions were.
