Effective Monday 05.28.07 NGSS-Avondale pay for TIG Pipe Welders will
be as follows:
$20.00 Taxable pay ST, $30.00 OT*, $40.00 DT**
$57.50 per day per Diem
$117.50 per day Pipe Welder Supplemental Allowance
(Standard $.80 per hour applies to 2nd shift differential, not
included in pay packages below).
Working 4-10 hour scheduled shift (Mon-Thurs, 6:00AM to 4:30PM,
overtime is available, not guaranteed) all hours worked earns $1500.00
per week
4-10's and 1-8's hour shifts, 48 hours will earn $1915.00 per week
4-10's and 2-8's hour shifts 56 hours will earn $2330.00 per week
4-10's and 3-8's hour shifts 64 hours will earn $2825.00 per
week
This is not short term employment; anticipated duration of project 12
months or longer
* Overtime paid after 40 hours
** Double Time is paid for Sunday if employee works full 7 day work
week and hours.
CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS
1) Must be US Citizen or US Person
2) US Citizens are required to present State ID and Social Security
Card upon processing (no
Laminated Social Security Cards allowed)
3) US Persons are required to present Permanent Resident Card and
Social Security Card upon
Processing (no laminated Social Security Cards allowed)
4) Background Screen will be processed by NGSS (No felony convictions
will be allowed)
5) Live outside 50 miles from NGSS-Avondale, 5100 River Road,
Westwego, LA 70094. Utility
Bill to substantiate residence (bill must be less than 90 days
old)
6) Must pass 90 day Hair Follicle Drug Test
CUSTOMER SKILLS TEST
Pipe-Welders will:
1) Have proper PPE for testing; Hard Hat, Welding Shield that attaches
to Hard Hat, High Top
Leather Steel Toed Boots, Safety Glasses, Welding Leathers, Fire
Resistant/Retardant Shirt
And Pants, Welding Gloves, Ear Plugs and Grinding Shield.
2) Take a written test; multiple choices (read and answer).
3) Perform a fillet weld test, vertical, and overhead; 1/8" 9018 rod
on 3/8" plate, 12" long plates,
Visual inspection only.
4) TIG test on =BD" socket weld pipe, .058 wall thickness, restricted
position. Applicant must pass
Visual, dipenetrant and micro test.
Must test copper-nickel filler on copper-nickel and also pass
stainless steel filler on stainless
Steel pipe
TEST AND PROCESSING TIME
Applicants that arrive at AFI office, 1510 Bridge City Ave, Bridge
City, LA 70094 on Mondays at 6:00 AM sharp with proper documents,
PPE and drug free should be able to begin work on or before Thursday
of the same week. The day after skills test is passed, applicant will
attend safety orientation. Upon receipt of negative drug screen
applicant will be notified to report to work.
ADDITIONAL

P.T.O Paid after 1850 hours worked @ $20.00 per hour for 40 hours for
this position.
