Just been thinking, if a person were to build a 12 foot trailer with a
dovetail, how would you add the dovetail using that 3x3 tubing I was
talking about? Woud you just cut a 2 foot piece at an agle and butt
weld it to the 10 foot piece and then use some sort of support on the
sides? Just thinking out loud.

If you cut the tube, only cut the sides and bottom, bend the top. If you add
to your 10' lengths, strap the sides and possibly the top.
