I have a Lincoln from Home Depot. This is for an emergency repair of the firepot for my corn stove. Although i am no expert and there are far better people here to answer it If youre looking for a "hold till spring to fix it right" it should work. but it WILL need to be fixed in spring I'm also a bad one to ask because i have access to mig and tig setups. I would TIG it with stainless wire. BUT Faces with the choice between a cold house and a temp repair with fluxcore to need a proper repair later I'd do the fluxcore weld and keep an eye on it the rest of the winter. If you don't have the time or money to fix it right, you won't have the time or money to do it a second time.
