I'm talking about the fine, thin wire cup brushes not the ones with
the twisted heavy gauge wire.

I was using one of the 3" cup brushes I got from Harbor Freight the
other day and was disappointed how little work life it had. It was
down to the rim in about 3 minutes --not to mention the safety concern
of those little needle daggers flying everywhere.

Do the other name brands last longer? Which brand do you like the
best?

What advantage is the gold colored wire over the plain wire?

I took a look at the green 3M Roloc bristle disks. Would you say they
can do anything the fine wire cup brush can? Do they last longer
than a good cup brush?

Check with Tom Gardner at Ohio Brush. His brushes are high quality and
reasonably priced.

The brushes from McMaster (which may be made by Tom, I do not know)
seem to last me forever. There is a difference. I have a cup brush for
an angle grinder, and a flat brush for the 1 HP motor. They just keep
on going.

Try 3M Bristle Disks.
The 4-1/2" versions run around $20 - $25 each, but they last a long
time and are the best paint eraser I have ever seen.

Yes I know they seem expensive, but for what they do they are cheap.
